Special Memories, with Loving Thoughts

I made this card for my daughter Melanie.  She told me a little tale of her 2 oldest children and their second week of school.  My little grandson Kaden is a big boy now,  he is in Kindergarten  having graduated from pre-school.  His little Sis Kaylene, who goes by Sissy started pre-school this year.  Needless to say my daughter stays in the car now with her youngest when she drops them off for school.   Afterall it's a pain to get the little guy in and out of his carseat.   Being the big brother that Kaden is, he decided he needed to walk Sissy to her classroom.  Holding hands of course..he escorted her to her classroom... gave her a big hug... waited for her to go in and then went to his own classroom.  Well this brought tears to Mel's eye's when she saw this and to mine when she told me.

What a great Big Brother he is!  Only 5 years old and such a gentleman...lol.  I just had to ink up my new Magnolia  Brother and Sister stamp and make this card.  I know my daughter will take it apart for their first day of school scrapbook page.  That's why I used a tag with the cute little heart charm and my Special Memories Stamp.  It is a great little memory and a perfect stamp to help remind us of  our little Prince Charming..... I do have a bunch of wonderful grandkids!

I entered this sweet little card into the following challenges:

Here's what I used to create my card:
  • Brother And Sister Magnolia Stamp
  • Special Memories & with Loving Thoughts Hero Arts Stamps

Happy Birthday to You!

I made this card for Operation Write Home.  Many of the challenges this week are having a Birthday Bash just for OWH.  I kept it pretty plain and simple, no glitter, pop dots or anything fancy.  No glitter is allowed, not sure about Stickles...lol  I want this card to survive intact to it's destination so everything is flat.  The flatter they are the more that will fit into the box.  I left the inside blank and just added white cardstock for plenty of room to write.  I didn't even cuttlebug  emboss anything so it would be smooth!

Maddie and I are going spend a weekend making cards for OWH.  We will be making general cards like Birthday's and Holiday's.  I am very pleased with how this card turned out.  I am entering this little cutie into the following challenges:

Here's what I used to create my card.:
Wow, what a short list.  Thanks for stopping by, comments are always appreciated.  Hugs, Marjo

Happy Halloween Easel Card

This card was such fun to make.  I used one of my new Gurlee Girl Stamps.  Cat Girl is so, so cute.  I am getting  a head start on my Halloween projects.   I think she turned out pretty darn cute.  I have been trying different coloring techniques, blending Copic's, Sakura Gel & Glitter Pens, watercolor pencils & chalk.

I have decided I need more Copic colors.  I bought a set and the color tones are too far apart to really blend.  It's like I have to learn to color all over again.   I feel like a kid with her first box of crayon's.

Oh yeah, I got into trouble with those too!  When I was 5, I was having a good time with 2 of my little friends coloring.  We were doing so good until we decided to melt all the crayon's in a pot.  Needless to say we melted them, and then dipped our fingers in.  Let it dry and then had crayola finger cots.  Of course we got into big trouble, received our much deserved punishment.  Not for melting the crayons mind you, but for using the gas stove!  What a happy memory...lol  We kept the burner low enough so we didn't burn ourself's.

Anyhow I entered this cute little easel card into the following challenges:

Here's what I used to create ny card:
  • Gurlee Girl Cat Girl Stamp
  • Happy Halloween Stamp from Michaels
  • Cuttlebug, Embossing Folders & Nesties

  • Marvy Flower Punch & Brad
  • Copic, Sakura Gel & Glitter Pens, Chalk, Watercolor Pencils

Birthday Card for Mom

OMgosh it's I can hardly believe that my mother will be celebrating her 95th Birthday in a few weeks!!! To me she's like in her early 70's.  Could be because she had me pretty late in life.   She's still young at heart and pretty darn active!!!  She just mentioned the other day that she wants to travel to Holland for my Aunt's 100th Birthday in 2012.

This is one of the Birthday cards that I am making for her.  I know that I will make several more goodies for her and maybe a few more cards for the greatgrandkids to give her.  I used the Bee Keeper by Victoria Case for my card.  I think my mom will get a real kick out of him.  She love's her flower's and garden.  I entered this little cutie into the following challenges:

Here's what I used to create my easel card:
  • Bee Keeper Victoria Case Digi
