Birthday Card # 2

Almost forgot to post this Birthday Card for my niece who is turning One this week.  Kept it plain and simple. I know her mom will probably take it apart and scrap it into her baby book.  This way she can do it easily and I won't go crazy when she takes it apart! I used  The Pink Elephant Sketch Challenge #55  for the card layout and Charisma Cardz Birthday Challenge with a Twist that calls for using a candle.
Used left over scraps from earlier projects, including ribbon rejects (cut them too short!).  Embossed with the Cuttlebug, stamp from Dollar Store, Martha Stewart edger,  and watercolor pencils.

Thanks for looking!

Happy Birthday Card-Lucky 7 Challenges!

Just LOVE, LOVE my Magnolia Stamps!  Finally got the guts to enter one in some challenges.  What a debut for my little Tilda with her sweet Piglet..7 challenges..wow.  Needless to say I made quite a mess, my entire crafting area was littered with quality control rejects..lol  They will off course be used by the kids or someone worse than me...haha.  My fingers were covered with ink, markers and finally chalk.  So far the chalk with watercolor pencils worked best for me.  I am still trying to master the markers..I think I need more colors to make them work.  At least with the chalks I can achieve some dimension and blending.  So here it goes, Mojo Mondays Sketch 127  is so cute I just had to use it for my layout, as you can see the round one was my choice.  All things need ribbon along with embossing  and Cute Card Thursdays Challenge 101 called for Ribbon Tastic.  Finally Sweet little Tilda was perfect to enter Just Magnolia Week 44 Challenge ,  Pixie Dust Studio Challenge #10  and    Gingersnaps Creations GC44 all Birthday themes.  Polka Doodles Week 8 Challenge of a shaped card, and lastly Tuesday Taggers because I truly had a megamess on my hands and room.  Should have taken pics but I haven't mastered hands free cell phone pics.  This card will go to a very "Special" litte girl for her Birthday.  She saw me making it, she thinks it is for someone else.  Won't she be surprised when her Birthday rolls arouond in May and she get's it!
Everything came from my stash. Used a Magnolia Stamp Tilda with Piglet colored her with chalks and watercolor pencils. Birthday stamp from dollar bin somewhere? Embossed with my Cuttlebug Swiss Dots. Used Wild Card & Mini Monograms carts on my Gypsy and Cricut to cut out all parts of the card.

Thanks for looking and all the comments.  Time to go to the Park and enjoy this beautiful day!

What's Up Card-2 Challenges

Well I still suck at coloring!  I will keep trying no matter how long it takes.  I have some really cute Magnolia stamps that are just waiting to go on some of my cards.  I'm thinking that they will make an appearance real soon...who knows??  I made this little card to give to a friend I haven't seen for a couple of weeks.   Suzie's Sassy Designs Challenge #9 color challenge gave me the colors of lilac and aqua, and  CPS Card Sketches #155 for the card layout.
Used Cuttlebug embossing folders to add texture, simple little stamp from Michael's, Martha Stewart edger and markers.  Papers and ribbon from stash.  Oops, and some pink Stickles

Thanks for the comments.

St Patrick's Day Card-5 Challenges

Had lots of fun making this card.  This little Leprachaun has a contagious smile.  All the Peachy Keen stamped faces are soooo cute!  I do hope to expand on my assortment in the near future.  So much to buy, too little money and not enough room! Well this card looks so much better in person, the sparkle of the card is hard to see with my cell phone pics...Oh well thats the way it goes.  I wanted to make a St Patty's Day Card and the Peachy Keen Challenge 23 was the perfect start.  The challenge colors of green and yellow set the tone. For Kaboodle Doodles  Fancy Fold Challenge 25 I made it a pop up card.  Just Buggin Dry Emboss Challenge was fantastic..I always try to emboss at least one element on all my cards..gotta love that Cuttlebug!  I used Sketch Saturday's Week 91 Challenge for my card layout.  Since the card is truly very sparkly and dazzle's in person I also entered it into Fussy and Fancy Challenge to Dazzle Us.
I used up more of my stash, the paper is sparkly paper, I used some stickles, red and gold embossing powder.  Clear Utee on the buttons of gold to make them more golden and sparkly...oh yeah and really hot!  His little hands I colored gold.  Used my Cricut & Gypsy to cut out the doll,  his pot and the cartouche.  Used the Cuttlebug to emboss the pot and everything yellow with  Swiss Dots. The face was stamped with a Peachy Keen Basic Paper Doll Face stamp from PK570.  Used a Shamrock Charm and a green brad for the pop up pull tag.

I really want to keep this card.  I will give it to my hubbie, that way I can put it into an album layout.  I will just take out the sentiment and replace it with a pic!
Thanks for all the comments, very much appreciated.

Chirp Up Card-2 Challenges

I will be giving this cute little Chirp me up card to a friend that can use some cheering up!  I made this card for 2 challenges, Allsorts Week 40 Challenge-Tag, Ticket or Label and Polka Doodle Week 7 Challenge-Sketch & For the Birds Theme.  It is nice to make cards for challenges that I end up giving out so quickly.  I wasn't sure when I started entering challenges if my cards would end up with the rest of my stash with no place to go!  I like to make my cards fresh and as needed, they seem to mean more to me as well as the person I give them too.  Needless to say I am glad they are all finding good homes.  Did I just say that...
Once again all the materials used came from scraps and stash!  Embossed with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots, Cricut to cut out the little tag, Stampin' Up Very Punny stamp and a Martha Stewart Edger.  I am trying to use up smaller or "mistake" scraps from other projects just made...anything look familiar.  I have got to continue to use the leftovers right away or toss them.  I have a "leftover" basket with smaller scraps that I toss once a month.  Of course I wait until we have our monthly crop and put it in the share box then whatever is left goes into the recycle bin.  It is really really hard for me to toss any scrap, doing it this way makes me feel less guilty..strange but so true!

OMG...too sinking funny, my hubbie has been printing some of his "sports stuff" and commented on how he was going to get it laminated.  Lightbulb!..didn't I get a Your Story machine when I bought my Cricut from HSN.  It has been sitting unopened in the box until just a few minutes ago...hahaha.  I told him he could open it, figure out how to use it and then teach me.  He did it in the time it took me to post this blog he got the job done.  A first for sure!  I may have created a binding and laminating monster... maybe now he will put up my shelves..lol

It's Time to be Crafty Card-3 Challenges

Made this little card to send to all my crafty friends for our next crop.  I entered it into 3 challenges, Friday Sketchers # 90Totally Papercrafts Challenge #4- Lots of Spots   and Tuesday Taggers-Time.  It still amazes me what I have in my stash!  I had checked out Tuesday Taggers Time challenge earlier this week, at the time I had forgotten about the paper lost in my stash!  What a surprise to find it and realize I could use it for my invitations and enter their challenge too..lol  I was planning on making them while doing the other 2 challenges anyways.  My only rule for entering any challenge is that I must use what I already have!...no new purchases...wah wah waah.
I simply love using up my supplies, means someday I will have room for new stuff!  It's sad but true, half the stuff I have I don't know how to use yet!  Not to worry, I will have fun learning.  Very simple card to make, used scallop and oval punches, yes ran them thru the Cuddlebug to emboss them with Swiss Dots.  Used markers and sanded the inside.

The Little Things Card- 3 Challenges

I made this card for 3 challenges Sussies Sassy Challenge #8 Hearts & Flowers, the sweetiest thing,,Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 57 and Pile it On! Challenge 6-Flowers.  I found all of them to be very challenging.  Why?  I am kinda sick of Hearts ALREADY!!!  The sketch layout seemed to stump me.  Pile it On is crazy...It will take me some real crafting management to really pile it on!  LOL..  Although I was  not totally in LOVE with the "idea of this card"; the end result is a keeper and one I will give to a friend.  When it was finished it made me smile, and that's always a good thing!
Once again all the materials used were scraps and stuff in my stash.  I wanted to keep the paper somewhat simple so of course it had to be embossed with the Cuttlebug. I used part of  A Little Love Stampin' Up stamp and one from 3 Birds. I used a flower button that was begging to go on this card, it has some nice texturing to it.  The card does look better in person.  All of my uploaded pics are taken by my cell phone.  I know shame on me.

4 Challenge's Imagination Card

Another day and some more challenges to tempt me! I am totally enjoying them.  It's great to use up all my scraps and stash.  I am just not sure if my images all have to be stamped or if I can use my cricut,   guess it's okay to stick to stamping even if I suck at it! lol x 10.  It is a brand new arena for me..heck everything is relatively new.  I am entering this little card into 4 challenges:  Charisma Cards/Challenge 7, Cute Card Thursday/Challenge 100-Metal Mania, Practical Scrappers/Flowers, The Play Date Cafe/PDCC17
Everything came from my stash and scraps! It's truly amazing what you can find hidden in your scrap drawers.  Hope somebody tells me if I am limited to only stamping.  I tried downloading a digi stamp, really didn't like how the image printed.  It could be that I have an old printer..I am trying to add to my stamp collection..it will take some time.

Of course I used my Cuttlebug Swiss Dots..love my embossing folders, some yummy brown eyelets, a metal Imagination sign, a yardsale stamp, Gellie Roll Pen, Stickles, and some clear Utee.

Thanks for the comments and words of encouragement!

Polka Doodles Week 6 Challenge-Hearts & Flowers/Papertake Sketch #34 Challenge

Still working on improving my stamping technique.  Someday soon I hope to be able to use the images I have added color to.  At this point they are pretty bad and end up in the recycle bin!  I had fun making this card, amazing considering how many attempts it took me using Martha Stewart's around the page punch!   Guess that's why I am entering challenges, to learn and improve...lol  I am entering this card into 2 challenges.  Polka Doodles-Hearts & Flowers challenge, and Papertake sketch #34.  What a great way to learn, layout and content.  Gotta love it!

  • Martha Stewart's Around the Page Heart punch
  • Cardstock & paper from stash
  • Prima Flowers
  • Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder
  • Stampin' Up Animal Valentine's stamp

Scrap Beach Feb Challenge #5

OMG..less than 2 hrs to submit...Here goes.  This is a simple card I made using a brand new technique.  Stamping!  How fun it is.  I am sure my technique will improve with time.  Lovin the stamps!..Even tried color..guess I need to invest in some watercolor markers.

Haven't got a clue!

Why am I starting a blog! No clue at all. Thought it might be a fun way to enjoy my newest obsession.... scrapbooking. I only know that this addiction has turned me into a "Zombie" blog and YouTube follower. Blog Challenges look like such fun! Just gotta figure out how to blog now and all the techno stuff that goes along with it.

This is a simple card I made for my son in law's birthday. I used plain cardstock left over from Halloween, lettering with the Cricut, embossing with the Cuttlebug and the dog from the Dollar Store.
